The Kiss

Saturday, September 19, 2009

4 years and 9 months of being together made him sure that she is "The One." Yes, he knew it in his heart that somehow they are meant to be together.

Ryan always finds it unfair that Jasmine wouldn't even give him a kiss. Not insulting, he was too understanding for that. Just...unfair. Besides, they have been together for almost 5 years.

"It's just a kiss, sweety." He would say.
"Every couple we know is doing it." He would add after seeing that the look on her face didn't change.

They met at school. They were high school's beloved sweethearts. Even during those age of raging hormones, hot girls weren't his cup of tea. He just isn't that kind of guy. Back when almost all the girls change boyfriends like they change clothes, Jasmine just sits there and reads her books. The cute, sweet, conservative bookworm caught his eyes. She's the kind of girl a guy would proudly bring home to his mom. Boy did he fall for her. And as luck would have it, she was head-over-heels in love with him too.

Perfect, just perfect. Almost. Turns out she is really conservative--inside out. Over the years they were together she has managed to keep her head above her shoulders and ruled out anything beyond holding her hands. This he obeyed patiently. Everyone they knew thought they were the perfect couple, for her loyalty and heart and him for his understanding. Yes, she was almost perfect, they were almost perfect, except maybe for their petty squabbles about that single kiss she wasn't prepared to give.

He couldn't even kiss her on the cheeks. Ryan was getting tired of being a 'good guy' and just holding her hand. He is a man after all.

4 years and 9 months with his first (and hopefully last) real girlfriend without his first real kiss. Impossible? Not. And so a few months before celebrating their 5th year, he found himself in a party with the old crowd, tipsy and having the time of his life, kissing, technically making out with Georgina the hottest girl in high school.

Too bad he forgot Jasmine was also invited. Even his heart was broken when he saw her teary eyed just standing behind them. He won't forget that moment, that look she gave him. Was she hysterical? No. She was calm so he wasn't prepared for what happened next.

She slowly walked forward, leaned and kissed him. At last, he got what he wanted. That single kiss. Only, he wish she didn't. He knew she wasn't ready. On top of it all, she felt her pain. It seemed like forever. When he opened his eyes, she was smiling, bitterly and said, "You got what you want. Now we're over."

It took him that to realize it wasn't just a kiss. It wasn't about playing hard-to-get and playing conservative. It wasn't just about love. It was about loyalty, patience and respect.

It was 4 years and 9 months since he last saw her. Seeing her again since that fateful day reminded him that she was the one. The one who got away.

Patigasan ng Ulo

Monday, September 7, 2009

(Warning: Cheesy Lines ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you.)

This pretty much sums up one of my two love stories. Me almost always giving up the things and the people who cares about me. Don't ask me. I, too, don't know why. Maybe I like being alone? Probably, I like doing things on my own because I don't want to go through the blaming-another-person process. Maybe I'm selfish? I guess so. At least I'm fair. I knew how to be treated like dirt and I don't want anyone getting that from me. I don't intentionally treat people like dirt but my i-don't-care-about-anyone attitude sometimes gets the better of me and I sometimes make others feel like I don't care.

Pero sabi ng dalawang kaibigan (who're madly in love with each other), wala naman daw sukatan ang pagmamahal. Kasi kung hinihingi niya yun, that is not love.

Hmm. Natigilan ako. Wala ata akong panabla sa kanila. Tumahimik. Nag-isip.

Tapos... nagutom.;)

Conclusion: Ang problema nagiging problema pag pinoproblema. Kaya wag ka nalang mamroblema. Kasi magugutom ka lang kakaisip. Tapos kakain ka, tapos tataba ka. Diba?XD

Birthday Song

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Excitedly she awoke
this twenty-second of December
for she received a message the day before.
She showered and got dressed
and went about her usual day,
counting hours to four.
And when at last the hour came
she almost skipped had she not contained herself.
Bought herself some icecream cone
and stumped her feet to a song.
'Ah, he's here.' she thought beaming.
'Happy Birthday.' he said. Not looking at her.
'I came by to give you your present.'
He smiled a smile that did not reach his eyes.
'I love you.' She said. Almost in a whisper.
Silently hoping but acknowledging
the thing she already knew.
He looked down and then away not knowing what to say.
Silence.
'Oh, okay.' she said and nodded.
She turned her heel not bothering to say good bye.
She waited for the bus. Anxious to get home.
'Surprise!' cried everyone.
Not quite. she thought.
In this room all the people she holds dear
burst out to a BIRTHDAY SONG,
while she burst into tears.
'Oh, look tears of joy!' someone said.
Ironic was the word.
for her heart is sinking in sea of loneliness
on this twenty-second of December.
And the Birthday girl smiled a sad, sad smile
only she knows about.
For she knew, things will never be the same.

"Sino" daw?

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

First page-ngiti konti.

(haha. I'm really used to calling him names as if we're close.)

Last page-pahid ng luha. Tapos ngingiti. Isang malaking buntong hininga.

ART APP.=)

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Yikes! I haven't practiced my right for freedom of speech and self-expression for a few weeks now! Terrible! There's no excuse for this. (Okay. I'm overreacting. hehe.)

Updates? I'm about to start my new life and I'm super excited about it. I'll tell you more about it.. ermm.. when I'm ready. It's not something I'm comfortable talking about.

For now, let's talk about something else. I was looking at my new course curriculum and I found out I have Art Appreciation subject. Argh! I do appreciate Art but can we just leave it to that? ! But that's not what I want to talk about right now. Let me just insert a two-letter word in between. Yes. The Art of Appreciation.

Do we even know what its about and how important it is? People don't even know how to say thank you these days. Is it so hard to say we appreciate even the littlest things, the littlest goodness around us?

Let's not take these things/people for granted. It's never too late to say how thankful we are and how much we appreciate them.

*Pahabol:
Speaking of Bob Ong. Sa wakas! May kopya na ko ng Kapitan Sino! Haha. Tagal kong hinintay.;p

Hi guys!

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Weeeehh. It's been a long while since my last post. I'm not even that busy. Hehe. I just don't have the inspiration to write and I hate blabbering about my sad sad life. I like to think I'm a private person. (haha!)

Anyway, I've been working on this very short story. My first time to write a really fictional story. Hmm. So please be kind with the commentaries. ;)

I'll post it after I'm done. Hopefully a little later.=)
